Fly Dane is a regional partnership that allows local agencies to pool their resources for periodic updates of orthophotography, elevation, and planimetric data.

6-inch Resolution Imagery:

Orthophotos combine the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. The Fly Dane 2003 six-inch resolution digital orthophotos are a mosaicked raster data set derived from black and white aerial photographs. The aerial photography was acquired in the spring of 2003 at a scale of 1:10,000 (1"=833'). The aerial photographs were used to create 1"=100' scale digital orthophotos at six-inch ground resolution covering limited areas in Dane County and consist of 26 one square mile tiles.

The aerial photography was acquired in the spring of 2005 at a scale of 1:10,000 (1"=833'). The aerial photographs were used to create 1"=100' scale digital orthophotos at six-inch ground resolution covering the majority of the urbanized areas in Dane County and consists of 305 one-square mile tiles.

Coverage Area:

The 6-inch resolution imagery was developed for twenty-six sections in the county. The areas colored in green show the coverage of this imagery.
