Why was the data set created?

This information is intended for cartographic use, general spatial analysis and as a spatial index to land related information. It is not intended for site specific analysis.

How was the data set created?

  1. From what previous works were the data drawn?

    (source 1 of 1)
Southwestern Wisconsin Seven-County Digital Ortho Consortium, 1995, Dane County 10-foot Contours: Dane County Land Information Office, Madison, Wisconsin.

    Source_Scale_Denominator: 12000

  2. How were the data generated, processed, and modified?

    (process 1 of 1)
The contours were created as part of the Southwestern Wisconsin Seven-County Digital Ortho Consortium project. The Digital Terrain Model (DTM) was processed using Intergraph Terrain Modeler software. A Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) model was created using DTM points and break lines. The TIN was processed to generate 10 foot contours. During the processing, index contours were labeled with their respective elevation values.
